STC’s head sets new condition for participation in Riyadh-formed Council’s meeting
ADEN, Sept. 27 (YPA) – Head of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, on Tuesday set a new condition in exchange for participating in the upcoming meetings of the Riyadh-formed “Presidential Council” in the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Al-Ayyam newspaper, issued from Aden, quoted sources as saying “Al-Zubaidi stressed the necessity of choosing a president for the upcoming meeting from the council members, and that it be restructured immediately.”
Al-Zubaidi calls for his promotion as first deputy to the Presidential Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, instead of the eight members.
The newspaper noted that Al-Zubaidi threatened escalatory options if the council is not restructured and he is not promoted as vice-president of the council.
Al-Zubaidi had rejected previous Saudi invitations to participate in upcoming meetings of the council in Riyadh, despite the approval of the rest of the members.
