Cemetery caretaker imposes excessive royalties to allow burial of child in Marib

MARIB, Sept. 11 (YPA) – A cemetery Caretaker in the city of Marib on Sunday refused to allow the burial of a child, along with her parents, despite the fact that the child’s family has lost ten persons while fighting in the ranks of the Saudi-led coalition forces.

Activists on social media circulated a video showing the cemetery’s official demanding 60,000 riyals from the family of the deceased girl in exchange for allowing them to bury the child alongside her parents.

The video also showed the families of the deceased child appealing to the official to allow them to bury the child because her family had lost 10  while they were participating in the fighting against Sanaa forces.

The cemetery groundkeeper’s behavior caused great discontent amongst the families of the coalition recruits in Marib.
