35 killed, 37 wounded in Burkina Faso IED’s explosion

WORLD, Sept. 06 (YPA) – At least 35 civilians were killed and 37 others injured in northern Burkina Faso on Monday when an improvised explosive device (IED)’s blast hit a convoy carrying supplies in Burkina Faso’s jihadist-hit north

“One of the vehicles carrying civilians hit an improvised explosive device, on a road between Bourzanga and Djibo in the north of the country,” AFP reported, citing the governor of the Sahel region where the attack took place saying in a statement

The death toll is 35 dead and 37 injured, all civilians,” he added.

The statement added that the explosion occurred as the convoy was returning from the north of the country to the capital Ouagadougou.

In early August, 15 military personnel were killed on the same road in an attack by two an improvised explosive devices’ explosions.
