Russia: Kiev tries to disrupt the mission of the IAEA

MOSCOW, Aug. 27 (YPA) – The Russian Foreign Ministry accused the Kiev authorities of trying to disrupt the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect the Zaporizhzhya nuclear plant.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that  Kiev was doing its utmost to disrupt the IAEA mission’s visit to the the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, but its efforts would not succeed.

“The Russian side is doing everything necessary to ensure the conduct of the IAEA’s international mission in the Zaporizhzhya,” the statement  added.

“This has become increasingly important as Ukrainian forces now launch new strikes on the plant and the storage area for spent nuclear fuel.”
