UAE launches large-scale military operation in Abyan

ABYAN, Aug. 22 (YPA) – Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias backed by the UAE launched on Monday a military operation against the Saudi-backed Islah militants in Abyan province, southern Yemen.

The STC media outlets said that Aidarous al-Zubaidi, the head of the STC , announced the operation, which he called “Arrows of East” to control to control all the Islah militants-held areas of the province.

On the other hand, the militant loyal to the Islah party mobilized in the city of Shaqra and declared their readiness to confront the STC amid expectations of violent battles between the two parties.
