Southern moves aim to ban Islah party in Aden

ADEDN, Aug. 22 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) officially started On Monday the trial of leaders in the Islah Party in the city of Aden, south of Yemen.

This came in a clear step to turn the party’s page from the front of the scene in the province, coinciding with the STC reopening the bombings file in Aden, especially the airport bombings and targeting governor Ahmed Lamles.

Criminal Court in the city of Aden carried out its first session to investigate the bombings, for which the STC had previously presented a long list of defendants, including prominent leaders in Islah.

Observers believed that the STC’s orientation to try the Party’s leaders, at this particular time, reflected the existing efforts in the coalition stadium to end the party’s presence from the political and military scene, especially this step comes in the wake of the secessionist council taking over the judiciary file.
