ISLAMABAD, Aug. 09 (YPA) – Four Pakistani soldiers were killed on Tuesday when a suicide bomber blew himself up targeting an army convoy near the Afghan border in the northwest of the country.

In a statement, the Media Department of the Pakistani army said that the attack took place in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and targeted a military convoy, killing four soldiers.

The Media Department added “The intelligence services had launched investigations to find out the details of the suicide bomber,” according to what was reported by the Chinese “Xinhua” agency.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned the attack, saying that “the evil plans of the terrorists will be futile,” according to a statement from his office.
