Paintings exhibition of Yemeni monuments under threat opened in Sanaa

SANAA, Jul. 25 (YPA) – The Minister of Culture in the Sanaa government, Abdullah al-Kebsi, on Sunday opened an exhibition of paintings of Islamic monuments under threat in Yemeni provinces.

The exhibition, which was held in Sanaa, includes 62 paintings by the artist Abdulqawi Qassem as part of a project implemented by the Culture Ministry in partnership with the Social Fund for Development to document and assess the damages of Islamic monuments under threat in Sanaa and the provinces.

The exhibition continues with a joint organization of the Antiquities and Museums Sector in the Ministry and the Fund until next Friday.

In the opening, Al-Kebsi noted that the aim of the exhibition is to introduce the reality of the damages and risks threatening these monuments and the requirements for their maintenance and protection according to the available capabilities.
