US: 2 killed in Houston-area shooting

WORLD, Jul.03 (YPA) – Two civilians were killed and one was injured in a shooting at Houston-area apartment complex, north of Harris County, Texas, authorities said Saturday.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said on Twitter that security forces responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the complex in north Harris County, about 15 miles (24 kilometers) north of downtown Houston, at 10:40 p.m. Friday, according to the Associated Press.

They discovered that three males had been shot, he added.

Two teenagers were pronounced dead at a hospital and a 20-year-old man who was shot twice is expected to survive, Gonzalez said.

Shootings are common in the United States and tens of thousands of victims go every year amid widespread violence within the American society.
