4 crew members killed, 5 others injured in Russian military plane crash

SANAA, June. 24 (YPA) – At least 4 crew members were killed and 5 others injured when a Russian military cargo plane crashed on Friday in Russia.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the heavy cargo Il-76 cargo plane crashed in the south-western Ryazan region.

The statement affirmed that a problem with the plane’s engine, forced the crew to make a ‘crash landing’ into a field outside the city of Ryazan.

Officials of the local administration in Ryazan said that the injured were taken to hospital in a “serious” condition.
