BAGHDAD, Jun. 16 (YPA) – Leader of the Sadrist movement, Sayyed Muqtada al-Sadr confirmed on Wednesday, that he will never back down from the resignation of members of his bloc from the Iraqi parliament and he will not participate in the next elections in the presence of the corrupts.
“I decided to withdraw from the political process so as not to participate with the corrupt in any way, neither in this world nor in the hereafter,” said Al-Sadr during his meeting with members of the Sadrist bloc in Najaf.
He added, “In the upcoming elections, I will not participate in the presence of the corrupts, and this is a covenant between me and God, between me, you, and my people, unless God relieves as to removes the corrupts and everyone who plundered, stole Iraq and permitted bloodshed.”
“If we participate in the corresponding elections, keep women and men on standby, and do not disperse, yet integrate politically, ideologically, parliamentary and legally, and communicate with the Iraqi people,” said Sayyed Al-Sadr addressing MPs of the Sadrist bloc.
