Journalist killed in car bomb explosion in Aden

ADEN, Jun. 16 (YPA) –  A powerful explosion has rocked Yemen’s southern port city of Aden on Wednesday night, local sources reported.

According to the sources, a car bomb exploded and targeted the Yemeni journalist  Saber Noman al-Haidari, near a checkpoint belonging to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias in Mansour district.

The explosion killed three people on board, including the journalist, Saber Noman Al-Haidari and another wounded,  a few hours ago, one of the sources said.

“Preliminary information indicates that the sticky bomb attached to al- Haidari’s car, as the criminal technology team and explosives experts are still at the scene to gather inferences and learn more about the nature of the explosion,” he said.

According to the sources, journalist Saber Noman al-Haidari works as a correspondent for Japan’s NHK agency and has worked in the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Information for more than 10 years.

Several southern provinces have been witnessing insecurity and terrorist operations since United Arab Emirates occupation forces took control over the southern regions.
