SANAA, Jun. 13 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council (SPC), Mahdi Al-Mashat, on Monday stressed that the advancement of the agricultural sector is among the Council priorities in order to achieve self-sufficiency for the Yemeni people.
During his meeting in Sanaa with the Governor of Saada province, Mohammed Jaber Awad, President Al-Mashat emphasized that the agriculture is the solid base for all the capabilities that can be relied upon in facing all challenges.
“Everyone should go to cultivate all the agricultural lands he owns,” he said, urging the government and every official in it to contribute to supporting agricultural production, by formulating policies, providing farmers with important guidance drawn from experts and agricultural engineers, and providing the largest possible amount of agricultural production inputs at the lowest cost.
President Al-Mashat also stressed the need to pay attention to constructing roads for citizens in remote areas.
The meeting dealt with the conditions of the province, aspects related to the agricultural sector, and the provision of services to citizens, especially roads in remote areas, and water and sanitation.
