SHABWA, May 16 (YPA) – A violent explosion rocked on Monday the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa province, east of Yemen, according to local sources.
The sources reported that an explosive device exploded next to the province’s building and caused a huge fire at the scene of the explosion.
The explosion came amid accusations exchanged between the Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias to target the UAE-backed governor of Shabwa, the leader Awadh Al-Awlaqi.
Observers considered that the escalation of assassinations and explosions with car bombs and explosive devices in Shabwa and Aden revealed a hidden conflict between the STC and “Tariq Afash, who is seeking to control over Shabwa oil wealth.
