Angry popular protests cut off main streets in Mukalla city
HADRAMOUT, May 04 (YPA) – Angry protesters blocked on Wednesday the main roads in the city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, against the backdrop of the water cuts to their homes.
Protesters in Al-Dis area blocked the streets with stones and waste containers for several hours, and prevented the passage of vehicles, denouncing the continual water outage in a number of the city neighborhoods for weeks.
They called on the local authority loyal to the Saudi-led coalition and the Water and Sanitation Corporation to quickly provide water and alleviate their suffering.
Many cities and provinces under the occupation of the Saudi-led coalition are witnessing a significant deterioration in all services, most notably the cuts in electricity and water and the flow of sewage in streets, roads and residential neighborhoods.
