Coalition seizes gas ship off Hodeida coasts

HODEIDA, May 03 (YPA) – Saudi-led coalition forces have continued to seize a gas ship off Hodeida coasts for the past 27 days.

Ali Maassar, the spokesman for the Yemeni Gas Company in Sanaa, confirmed in a statement on Tuesday that the coalition held the ship carrying more than 8,258 tons of cooking gas.

He said that the coalition has been holding the ship since April 27, ignoring the UN-announced humanitarian truce for entry to ships to port of Hodeida.

The continued detention of the gas ship would lead to supply bottlenecks and increase the suffering of citizens in light of the ongoing piracy by the coalition forces, in addition to the high costs of gas prices due to the imposition of delay fines resulting from this unjustified arbitrary detention.
