Aden Postal employees protest after transferring its services to private sector
ADEN, May 08 (YPA) – Postal workers organized on Wednesday a protest in front of the General Post Office in Khur Maksar district in Aden, where the protesters raised slogans demanding that the so-called (Presidential Council) support the General Post Office as a government facility and not transfer its services to the private sector.
The protesters said that withdrawing postal work to the private sector, such as the decision to transfer the payment of pensioners’ salaries from the public post office to private banks, threatens the fate of thousands of public postal workers.
On the other hand, the Aden Postal Union threatened the workers and asked them not to go out or carry out protests, because this was illegal, which prompted the union to be changed and a new union formed.
