Russia’s Defense Ministry: Strategic nuclear missile forces are in combat readiness

MOSCOW, Feb. 28 (YPA) – Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Monday told President Vladimir Putin about the readiness of the Strategic Missile Forces, the Northern and Pacific Fleet and long-range aviation to carry out their tasks.

On Sunday, President Putin directed the Russian Defense Ministry to raise the state of the highest alert for the strategic deterrent forces of the Russian army. Putin’s directives came against the backdrop of statements by NATO officials against Russia.
