STC imposes huge levies on trucks at checkpoints in Abyan

ABYAN, Feb. 21 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias have imposed huge amounts of money on heavy truck drivers at security points in the southern province of Abyan, activists reported on Sunday

According the activists, the STC’s militias at checkpoints between Shuqrah and Al-Alam areas of Abyan province impose huge amounts of money on truck drivers under the name “contribution to security and military support” amounting to about 1.5 million Yemeni riyals

The other under the name of “bond of receipt of various goods” and improvement bonds worth 100,000 riyals and while the fees imposed on oil locomotives could reach more than 1.5 million riyals.
