Beijing comments on reports that former Kazakhstan President Nazarbayev in China

BEIJING, Jan. 11 (YPA) – China’s Foreign Ministry said reports that former Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev is in China are “false and baseless”.

The Foreign Ministry added on Tuesday: “This is completely false information. We noted that the press secretary of the former President of Kazakhstan said that Nazarbayev is currently in the country’s capital, Nursultan.”

Recently, rumors spread in the media that Nazarbayev flew to China.

Earlier, Nazarbayev’s press service reported that the former president of Kazakhstan is in the capital, Nur-Sultan, and that he called on all Kazakhs to rally around the head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to overcome current challenges and ensure the safety of the country.
