Sanaa int’l airport goes out for service because of coalition airstrikes: official

SANAA, Dec. 21 (YPA) – Deputy Public Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Raed Jabal, said on Monday that Sanaa International Airport went out service as a result of airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition warplanes.

Jabal affirmed in a news statement that the airport was providing its navigational services to United Nations planes and international organizations with all professionalism and technical readiness, according to the international requirements applicable at international airports.

He stressed targeting the airport aimed to impede humanitarian aid provided to the Yemeni people and obstruct the UN flights and its organizations operating in Yemen, ignoring all international covenants and agreements that criminalize targeting civilian airports.

Jabal pointed out that the countries of the coalition targeted the airport since the first day from the aggression and prevented the entry of its communications equipment and system.

He called on the United Nations to take immediate action to stop this systematic targeting of the airport, which would impede its movements.
