SANAA, Dec. 20 (YPA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry called on Riyadh to follow diplomatic solutions and to stay away from what threatens security in the region.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said during the weekly press briefing on Monday that the recent talks between Riyadh and Tehran did not achieve any tangible progress.
“Iran is ready to continue dialogue with Saudi Arabia to resolve bilateral and regional issues, waiting for the Saudi response to what presented in previous talks,” he added.
On August 16, Khatibzadeh confirmed that his country had held several rounds of negotiations with Saudi Arabia, indicating that there was no objection to their resumption.
He said, “Iran insists on the principle of dialogue to stop tension and enhance cooperation between the two countries.”
