SANAA, Dec. 11 (YPA) – The Syrian Federation for Football strongly condemned the disgraceful act committed by the assistant coach of the Syrian junior national team against a Yemeni player.
The Union said in a statement, “The temporary committee of the Syrian Arab Football Federation affirmed its rejection of the disgraceful individual behavior carried out by the assistant the team, Louay Othman, in final match with Yemen in the West Asian Junior Championship held in Saudi Arabia.”
The statement indicated that it had taken a strict procedures against Othman and preventing him from accompanying any club or national team until further notice.
Othman slapped the Yemeni national team player, Issam Radman, one minute after he scored the winning goal for the Yemeni team, which provoked widespread anger and reactions.
Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of Yemeni unanimously agreed on the moral fall by the assistant coach of the Syrian national team, after his loss to the Yemeni team.
On the other hand, dozens of the Syrian activists on social media platforms also denounced the behavior of the Syrian assistant coach, and called for his stop.
