Awqaf Authority condemns coalition’s bombing of cemeteries, mosques in Hodeida

HODEIDA, Dec. 07 (YPA) – The General Authority of Awqaf and its office in Hodeida on Monday condemned detonating a cemetery by the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition mercenaries, and before that Al-Balkhi Mosque in Hays district, whose foundation dates back to the apostolic era.

The Authority of Awqaf considered, in a press statement, the bombing of a cemetery and the demolition of the mosque in Hays a crime added to the criminal record of the coalition and mercenaries since the early days of the aggression against the province.

The statement stressed that the coalition’s systematic destruction of historical monuments and archaeological sites aims to destroy Yemen’s historical cultural heritage.

The Awqaf Authority and its office in Hodeida appealed to the concerned international organizations to preserve human heritage in Yemen.
