Sanaa forces advance towards oil fields in Safer, east of Marib

MARIB, Oct.10 (YPA) – Fierce battles took place north of Marib city on Sunday between the Salvation Government’s forces on one side and the Saudi-led coalition forces and Al-Qaeda militants on the other, which left dozens of dead and wounded on both sides.

Local sources in Marib told “Yemen Press Agency” that Sanaa forces launched a large-scale military attack from their positions in “Al-Kassara” area and the outskirts of Raghwan District towards the sites of the coalition forces and Al-Qaeda on Al-Alam front, northeast of Marib city.

After fierce battles between the two sides, the Sanaa forces managed to clear ‘Abu Al-Shad’ Mount in the Al-Alam area overlooking the Safer oil road line, east of the city of Marib, the sources added.

In an attempt to stop the advance of Sanaa forces from the north to the east, the coalition warplanes launched several air raids on several areas of ‘Al-Alam Al-Abyadh’ front and on “Abu al-Shad” mountain.
