CAMA condemns continual bombing of Yemeni airports
SANAA, Sept. 13 (YPA) – The Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority (CAMA) on Monday condemned the continuous and systematic targeting of the Yemeni airports by Saudi-led coalition aircraft, the latest of which was bombing Taiz International Airport with several raids on Sunday.
CAMA’s Undersecretary, Raed Talib Jabal, indicated that the targeting of Taiz airport occurred despite its departure from technical readiness due to previous bombing by the coalition warplanes.
Jabal denounced the bombing of civilian airports, which is a violation of all international laws and norms, condemning the continuation of the international silence on the crimes of the Saudi-led aggression coalition.
He called on the international community to quickly break the siege imposed on Sanaa International Airport to save the lives of patients and end the suffering of expatriates and stranded abroad.
In the same context, Jabal also denied what was reported by some media and websites of the coalition countries that the closure of Sanaa airport came as a result of its use as a corridor for smuggling weapons.
He affirmed that the Sanaa Airport is a civil and provides air navigation services to civil aviation in accordance with requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
