Major fire devours 7 Egyptian boats in Red Sea

CAIRO, Sept. 09 (YPA) – A fire broke out in 7 Egyptian fishing boats in the port of Berenice, which is designated for the launch of fishing boats, in the southern Red Sea Governorate.

The fire started in one of the fishing boats on the quayside, and due to the wind the fire spread and reached the rest of the boats, as the Civil Protection sent a number of fire engines to put out the fire.

A source in the fishing sector said that the fishermen tried to control the fire, but the wind and flammable materials made it difficult to control the fire.
