SANAA, Sept. 07 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology on Tuesday expected rain accompanied by thunderstorms on the western highlands chain, and it will be heavier in Dhamar, Ibb and Taiz provinces.
In a warning bulletin, the center indicated the possibility of scattered light to medium rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the provinces of Shabwa, Abyan, Bayda, Hadhramaut and Mahra.
Light to medium thunderstorms are expected, accompanied by thunderstorms, on the coasts of the governorates of Aden, Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Hadhramaut, Hodeidah and the interior areas adjacent to those coasts.
The center pointed to the continuation of the activity of the southwest monsoon on the Socotra archipelago, which disturbs the sea and raises waves.
The center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to avoid being in the valleys and flood corridors during and after the rain, in order to preserve their safety and the safety of their property.
The center warned drivers of vehicles in bends and mountain slopes of reduced visibility as a result of rain or the formation of water mist, warning captains of small ships, fishermen and sea-goers in the Socotra archipelago of strong winds and sea turbulence.
