KABUL, Aug. 31 (YPA) – A photo released Tuesday by US Central Command revealed the name of the last soldier to withdraw from Afghanistan.
On Monday, the United States said it had completed the withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan.
“The last American Soldier leaves Afghanistan Major General Chris Donahue, commander of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division, 18 air borne corps, boards a C-17 cargo plane at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan,” US Central Command said in a tweet.
By his leaving, the US mission to evacuate US citizens, Afghans with special immigrant visas has been completed, in addition to afghans at risk.
More than 122,000 people have been airlifted from Kabul since August 14, the day before the Taliban regained control of the country.
