SANAA, Aug. 29 (YPA) – Afghanistan’s Taliban Movement vowed on Saturday to form a new government, including women, for the country within the next few days.
Reuters news agency quoted Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid as saying that the new government “will not only include ministers, but leaders. It is difficult at the present time to predict whether women will enter the cabinet.
He added: “The Taliban” has appointed governors and police chiefs in 33 out of 34 provinces, in which Panjshir is still outside the movement’s control.
Mujahid pointed out that the “Taliban” had appointed officials to manage key institutions such as the ministries of health and education and the central bank, expecting that the tangible economic turmoil that had damaged the Afghan currency would ease recently.
Mujahid affirmed that the movement would work on finding solutions to the problems related to the currency and the economy in the country, calling on the United States, Britain and other Western countries to maintain their diplomatic relations with Afghanistan.
