Washington Post: CIA manager has met with Taliban leader

SANAA, Aug. 24 (YPA) – The Washington Post, citing US officials, reported that CIA Director William Burns met with Taliban leader Abdul Ghani Baradar in Kabul on Monday.

It is noted that it is the first of its kind dialogue between a senior administration in the US administration and one of the Taliban leaders.

The newspaper spoke of “the southern” character “of this situation, as Paradar was arrested by the US Central Intelligence and Pakistani customers before 11 years, and after 8 years in jail, recently engaged in negotiations with the United States in Qatar.

The Washington Post reported that the parties discussed approximately 31 August, the United States was to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan, the evacuation of citizens and Afghans cooperation.

The CIA refused to comment on the publication of information.
