Pro-coalition commander survives assassination attempt in Abyan

ABYAN, Agu.01 (YPA) – A commander loyal to the Saudi-led coalition survived on Sunday an assassination attempt in Abyan province, south of Yemen.

According to local source, a group of gunmen on a bus opened fire at the commander of the UAE-backed Security Belt Forces in Ahwar region, “Ali Hadi al-Hubaidi” in al-Koud area.

The source added that the attack resulted in the injury of al-Hubaidi and two of his companions, and the killing of a third.

The UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) accused the Saudi-backed Islah party militants from being responsible for the assassinations against the STC’s members in the southern governorates.
