NCM warns against heat-wave within coming 24 hours

SANAA, Jul. 09 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has warned citizens in desert areas and coastal plains of a heat-wave over the coming 24 hours.

In its weather bulletin on Friday, the center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to stay away from valleys and water channels during the rainfall.

The center explained in the bulletin that weather would be partly cloudy in mountain highlands, with forming convective clouds, accompanied by varying rainfall over the governorates Lahij, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar and Rayma, Dhalea, Abyan and Shabwa.

The weather would be partly cloudy to humid in coastal areas, with the formation of rain clouds on parts of the western coasts, the Tihama Plain and the adjacent interior areas, as well as moderate to active winds reaching 28 knots.

Socotra Archipelago: Partly cloudy weather would be, with active southwesterly winds reaching its speeds at up to 40 knot.
