Lebanon: Israeli gunboat violates territorial waters

SANAA, Jun. 20 (YPA) – The Lebanese army announced that it had recorded a naval breach by two Israeli boats during the past two days, within the Lebanese territorial waters, opposite the Ras Al-Naqoura area.

In a statement, the Lebanese army said: “On June 18, 2021 at 18:55 (local time), an Israeli enemy gunboat violated the Lebanese territorial waters off Ras Al-Naqoura, for a distance of about 314 meters and for a period of 5 minutes.”

The statement added: “On June 19, 2021, at 04:13, a similar enemy boat violated the aforementioned marine spot, for a distance of about 333 meters and for a period of two minutes, as its members threw a flare bomb over the mentioned waters.”

The Lebanese army indicated that “the issue of the breaches is being followed up in coordination with the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon.”
