Iran’s Parliament Speaker: IAEA no more entitled to access AEOI cameras

TEHRAN, May 23 (YPA) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said that  the nuclear monitoring agreement between Tehran and the IAEA expired yesterday (May 22nd), Iran’s Fars news agency reported.

“As of May 22, with the conclusion of the three-month agreement, the IAEA will not be able to access the data collected by the cameras within the nuclear facilities agreed under the agreement,” Qalibaf said.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said this week that it was in talks with Tehran on how to proceed with the monitoring agreement.

The agreement is particularly important in light of the ongoing international negotiations in Vienna seeking to resume the 2015 nuclear deal, and senior diplomats from France, Britain and Germany warned yesterday that a solution to the issue was of paramount importance.
