Ireland describes Israeli entity’s attacks on Sheikh Jarrah as brutal crime

SANAA, May 10 (YPA) – Ireland’s Foreign Minister, Simon Coveney, described on Monday Israeli entity’s attacks against resident in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied Palestine as brutal crimes.

Coveney criticized on Twitter the Israeli entity’s authorities and the way they dealt with the Palestinian protests in al-Quds, in an attempt to expel the residents from their homes.

“The expulsions and the threat to evacuate the residents’ homes in the areas of Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan, and the brutal response of the entity’s security services to the protests in Al-Aqsa is unacceptable,” he added.

The ministry affirmed a decision issued by the entity’s authorities for building settlement units in Har Homa, the lands of Jabal Abu Ghneim, south of al-Quds, is illegal, a violation of the international law, and undermine any chance to reach peace.

Earlier, Coveney expressed his country’s concern about the violence in Eastal-Quds, and the threat of eviction in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, calling for the necessity to stop the evictions and demolitions.
