New assassination hits Aden

ADEN, April 26 (YPA) – Unidentified gunmen assassinated an escort of a security leader on Sunday in the southern  port city of Aden, local sources said.

According to the local sources, the unidentified assailants killed the escort of Dar Saad’s police chief in Caputa district and fled.

Tuesday’s incident is an addition to a series of assassinations targeting security and military leaders, civilian and political figures and activist.

As a part of the chaos, clashes broke out between gunmen and the UAE-backed southern Transitional Council (STC) militias in Jawlat al-Safeenah in the city of Aden.

According to local sources, unidentified gunmen attacked a pickup vehicle belonging to the security belt forces.

The sources explained that the attack resulted in the death and injury of members of the security belt.

The gunmen fled after the operation, the sources added.

Aden is witnessing a state of insecurity and liquidations between the STC and pro-Hadi elements.
