UAE occupation obliges fishermen in Socotra to sell fish to its factories

SOCOTRA, March 08 (YPA) – The heads of fish associations in Socotra province have called on UAE delegates who control the fish sector and the UAE factory,  to pay the fish tax, which he has evaded since the beginning of his work in the archipelago.

Fishermen in Socotra said the occupying forces were forcing them to deliver the fish to the UAE factory.

The fishermen added that they face pressure in their work and abuses under the management of UAE representative Abu Mubarak al-Mazroui.

The fishermen pointed out that the UAE occupation forces also prevent ships of Yemeni fishermen – in Socotra, Hadhramout and Mahrah – from fishing in front of the island’s borders.

They explained that the heads of the fish associations demanded that UAE delegates should pay the tax of fish that disavows and evades it since the beginning of the entry of UAE occupation  forces Socotra.

They added: The dispute between the heads of the fish associations and the UAE delegates has escalated after the occupation delegation demanding the association to return the cars that were given to them in the name of the associations.

Last Thursday, Socotra  fishermen said the UAE occupation  troops had prevented them from fishing off the island of Drasa, one of the archipelago’s islands, after the troops landed there to create new military sites.
