SANAA, Feb. 27 (YPA) – US President Joe Biden said Saturday that he had informed Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz that Washington would announce significant changes in policy toward Saudi Arabia on Friday and Monday.
“I spoke to the king yesterday, not with the crown prince, and I told him clearly that the rules are changing, and that Washington will announce major changes in US-Saudi relations on Friday and Monday,” Biden said in an interview with Univision.
“We are holding Saudi Arabia accountable for human rights violations,” Biden said.
Earlier Friday, a report released by the US Office of the Director of National Intelligence assessed that Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud approved an operation to “capture or kill” Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.
The report noted that The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia considered Khashoggi a threat to the kingdom and agreed to measures that would silence him.
