US bombers arrive in Norway to conduct exercises.
SANAA, Feb. 23 (YPA) – The US Air Force Command in Europe and Africa announced that the US “B-1B Lancer” strategic bombers had arrived for the first time in Norway to participate in maneuvers there.
The command added, on Tuesday, that the bombers that arrived in Norway are from Squadron No. 7, which took off from “Dyce” Air Force Base in Texas to “Irlan” Air Force Base in Trondelag County in Norway.
“I look forward to the opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities to carry out important operations and perform important operations from this new location and in new conditions. Training with allies such as Norway allows us to hone our skills in deterrence and defense, as well as enhancing stability,” said the commander of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa, Geoffrey Harigian.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced earlier, that the intention of Oslo (Norway) to deploy US strategic bombers at its air base near Trondheim is another step towards increasing military activity in the region.
