Activists warn of unrest in Hadramout
HADRAMOUT, Feb. 22 (YPA) – Southern political activists on Sunday warned of sedition in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.
This came after the so-called “Hadramout tribes’ reference” stepped up its calls for the formation of the independent “Hadramout region” and the complete exit from the mantle of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the rest of the southern provinces.
Activists attacked this reference, confirming the involvement of the Islah Party in forming it and standing behind its coats to isolate Hadramout and Mahra provinces from the rest of the southern provinces that the STC tries to impose its control over.
Like the rest of the southern provinces, the conflicting forces, subordinate to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, seek to swallow the oil-rich province of Hadramout, using all deceptive methods under false calls and titles at times, assassinations, robbery, looting and intimidation at other times.
