Widespread dust wave expected within 24 hours

SANAA, Feb. 06 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected on Saturday a wave of widespread dust sweeping the desert areas within the next 24 hours.

The center affirmed in its weather forecast that cold weather would prevail on the mountainous heights, accompanied by varying rain in a number of provinces of Hajjah, Mahwait Rayma, Ibb and Taiz.

The NCM mentioned that the weather in the coastal areas would be partly cloudy with the possibility of light to moderate rain on the eastern, southern and western coasts, and the winds might be light to moderate speed, causing dust and sand on the southern regions of the western coasts and the entrance Bab el-Mandeb, reaching its maximum speed at 20 knots.

The center warned the residents of the mountainous areas and the interior plateaus of the relatively cold weather during the night and early morning, warning also of heavy rains, thunderstorms.

It called on citizens and patients drivers residing desert areas, to take the necessary precautions from the effects of the widespread dust wave.
