Afghanistan: Taliban-recruited soldier kills 7 soldiers

KABUL, Jan. 6 (YPA) – A Taliban-linked soldier killed seven Afghan soldiers and fled his position in the southern province of Ghazni, media outlets reported.

According to the media, “the soldier opened fire on the seven soldiers after they were poisoned and fled carrying weapons and ammunition to an unknown destination.”

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the operation .

Clashes between Taliban militants and the military continued, as the Afghan National Defence and Security Forces conducting joint counter-terrorism operations throughout the country.

A new round of Qatari-American-sponsored talks was held in Doha last September to resolve the conflict between the two sides.
