SOCOTRA, May 24 (YPA) – The tropical cyclone Mekunu on Wednesday hit heavily the coast of Socotra Island causing the sinking of four people aboard a ship in Hadibo, the capital of Yemen’s province of Socotra.
Local sources told the Yemeni Press Agency that three ships sank because of the typhoon.
Two ships were sank off coast of Socotra and the third in east of the coast of Hadibo.
Four members of the crew of the ship were survived and 16 people were lost.
