HADRAMOUT, Dec. 28 (YPA) – A Canadian company working for Saudi Arabia began work on destroying ‘Al-Khashaa’ oil field in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, local sources said on Monday.
The destruction process was by pouring huge quantities of acid into its surroundings, after a Saudi force transferred the company’s American director
“Hernt” from Al-Khashaa area to Sayoun city, the sources added.
The Al-Khashaa oil field is considered the concession area in Hadramout. It was opened in 2008 informally by influential persons in the state like General Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar and Hameed Al-Ahmar, and others.
The Al-Khashaa field produces 6,000 barrels of oil per day, with 30 oil locomotives departing from it towards Marib province. The monthly revenues of this oil field are estimated at about $ 8 million, about $ 100 million annually.
