3 police officers killed in shooting in central France

SANAA, Dec. 23 (YPA) – Three policemen were killed and a fourth wounded on Wednesday in a shooting that took place inside the “Puy de Dôme” district in central France.
The “Agence France Presse” reported that three French policemen were killed and a fourth wounded by a 48-year-old man while trying to rescue a woman on the roof of a house.

The agency indicated that the shooter was likely mentally ill, as the accident occurred in a small isolated village in the French province.

The agency added that the gunman first shot and killed and wounded a number of policemen before setting fire to the house.

The agency quoted officials as saying that the woman was rescued, and that police officers were still at the site.

The officials that “firefighters are also at the site trying to control the fire.”
