4 killed, 5 injured in tribal clashes in Marib
MARIB, Dec. 21 (YPA) – At least four tribesmen were killed and five others wounded in tribal clashes erupted on Monday in the areas under the control of Saudi-led coalition forces in Marib province, a local source reported.
“The tribal clashes erupted between ‘Al Yousfi’ and ‘Al Hawaik’ tribes in ‘Mardan’ fortress area between ‘Al Ma’ili’ and Al Hawaik,” the source said.
He added that Mohammed Ali Salem Al-Hawaik and another person from Al Hawaik, in addition to two others from Al Al-Yousfi tribe were killed, while five from both sides were injured.
The Al-Yousfi family dug an artesian water well that Al Hawaik tribes claim to be owned by them, and gunmen from the Al Hawaik family burned the digger, which led to the outbreak of fighting between the two tribes, the source explained.
The province of Marib has been witnessing insecurity and fighting between the tribes of the province since it fell to the coalition forces in 2015.
