Public education needs complementary support from Gov’t: PM

SANAA, Dec. 20 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor said on Sunday that public education needs complementary support from the government and society institutions to promote its pivotal role in the course of human development.

During his meeting with Minister of Education Yahya Al-Houthi, the Prime Minister indicated that the government is keen to support the Ministry of Education and its development plans as well as its efforts to alleviate the suffering of teachers due to the suspension of their salaries as a result of the transfer of the Central Bank’s jobs to its branch in Aden.

The meeting discussed the progress of the educational process in the Capital Sanaa and the free provinces and the national and humanitarian roles of the educational staff towards male and female students, despite the difficult living conditions.

It also touched the ministry’s plan to update and develop curricula according to a scientific and national vision.
