Qatar welcomes Kuwait’s announcement on resolving Gulf crisis

SANAA, Dec. 5 (YPA) – The Qatari Foreign Minister, Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Thani, welcomed Kuwait’s announcement of fruitful negotiations as part of efforts to end the crisis that has continued since 2017 between Doha and its Gulf neighbors.

On his Twitter account, the Qatari minister described the statement by the Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs and Information Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Muhammad Al-Sabah regarding the latest developments in the region as an “important step towards solving the Gulf crisis.”

He  indicated that his country has thanked Kuwait since the beginning of the crisis for its mediation and appreciates American efforts in this regard, adding: “We affirm that our priority has been and will remain the interest and security of the Gulf peoples and the region.”

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, also welcomed the Kuwaiti statement, saying that it “reflects the strength and cohesion of the Council as well as its ability to overcome all obstacles and challenges.
