STC reveals Islah’s readiness to send two brigades to Abyan

MARIB, Oct. 25 (YPA) – Islah militants are planning to enforce their positions in all front lines in Abyan province, by sending two military brigades, said a leader in the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).

This coincides with Saudi arrangements to start implementing the military component of the Riyadh accord, which states  the departure of the Islah factions from Abyan, in a sign that the party backed by Qatar and Turkey refuse to implement the military component.

Adnan al-Ajam, editor-in-chief of Alomanaa newspaper, said that During his recent contact with Marib Governor Sultan al-Arada, Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar has asked Sultan al-Arada to had prepare  two brigades and send them to Shuqrah  in Abyan.

Mohsen’s moves indicate his intention to escalate during the next phase, especially in Abyan, which could hinder the implementation of the Riyadh agreement.
